Michelle Eva May

Michelle Eva May is a mixed media figurative artist living in north London. After many years working as a graphic designer and illustrator, now Michelle has turned back to her purest creative expression in picking up the paintbrush to invest in her real passion. Her work often evokes an emotional response from her audience through its sensual and dreamlike aesthetic. Working often on large scale canvases/board, her pieces have fantastic impact. Inspired by photography, street/urban art, film and music, the powerful and magical quality of her work is permeated by ‘darkness and light’ as an metaphor of life. Michelle works in mixed media using layering techniques to stunning effect, resonating a rare combination of balance, elegance and grit.

The Chocolate Factories in Wood Green, London N22, are a landmark development and hub of excellence for the creative industries in the UK.

The project started in 1996 when Collage Arts, an arts development agency, moved into the Chocolate Factory on Clarendon Road and converted several derelict floors of the Factory into artist studios.

What followed was a high demand for creative space and in 2002, Collage Arts renovated Chocolate Factory 2 on Coburg Road, next door.
